Join us for some December fun, thanks to The National Lottery! #ThanksToYou

On the 12th & 13th December, we are offering a free cup of tea and a mince pie to National Lottery players!

The National Leather Collection will be offering a free cup of tea and a mince pie to all National Lottery players on the 13th December 2017. We are one of 400 participating National Lottery funded visitor attractions across the UK saying ‘thanks’ to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a lottery ticket.

The National Leather Collection has received £78,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The money has helped us to move into our new home in the heart of Northampton, and return our nationally significant collection of leathercraft to the public.

Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive of the Heritage Lottery Fund, said: “December is a wonderful time to experience the UK’s rich, diverse and exciting heritage, which has been transformed by more than £7bn National Lottery funding since 1994. This is a small gesture of thanks and a way of giving something back to the people who buy tickets.”

The idea is simple: any visitor who presents a National Lottery ticket or scratchcard on 13th December gets a tea/coffee and a mince pie in return.

Philip Warner, curator of the National Leather Collection said: “Thanks to National Lottery players we’ve been able to tell the world story of the production and use of leather. It’s a huge story that is as old as humanity and we are delighted to have been given an opportunity to showcase our treasures once more.”
